I don’t know about you, but this week has been rough. I can’t seem to tear myself away from the news coverage of what’s going on in Texas. Who knew the sight of bass boats coming from all over our country could bring me to tears?
As many of you know, I’m a born and raised Houstonian. My heart will always be in Texas, no matter where the Air Force sends us. My parents, my in-laws, my extended family, and countless friends are all in that area. The last week has been horrific and scary to watch from so far away, and even though all of my family and friends are safe there is still so much devastation.
I plan to donate the profits from my sales through the month of September to those hurting from Hurricane Harvey. To be honest, I’m not sure as of yet where I want that money to go — there are so many wonderful organizations out there, and I want to take my time to find the right one. Of course I will keep you all posted on my decision, and feel free to let me know what organizations you love.
I’m having a hard time thinking about business at all, and focusing on safer beauty and skincare seems a bit trivial. But I know it’s not, because this is an issue that will remain important to me no matter what. And the fact is, I am able to generate the most income from my Beautycounter business. It may not be earth shattering amounts of money, but I believe every bit counts. I’ll be very honest — my monthly income right now from Beautycounter is in the low 4-figures. Do you know how many people in Texas could benefit from this amount? Literally millions.
Can you imagine walking up to someone who has lost everything and handing them a couple grand? Or think about how many diapers we could buy with that money. Consider how that money would cover rent for a person while trying to get back on his or her feet. My point is that EVERY DOLLAR MATTERS.
So let’s do two great things — use safer products and help people recover from Hurricane Harvey.
If you’re not familiar with Beautycounter, it is a skincare and beauty company dedicated to getting safer products into the hands of everyone. BC has chosen to eliminate 1500 ingredients from their products that are potentially harmful and toxic to the body, even though America only bans 30 ingredients. Beautycounter is also dedicated to advocating for safer protective laws, so hopefully one day we will be able to buy products from any store in this country and not have to worry about product safety. I promise I am not going to hound you about sales and buying stuff all the time. My goal is education and better health for everyone. I try my hardest to run my business with honesty and integrity. If you have purchased from me before, please comment below with your experience … it may encourage others.
So if you would like to make a purchase through my Beautycounter link, please do it this month. If you need to stock up on your regular BC items or just want to see what all the fuss is about when it comes to a charcoal mask, September is the best time to do it! Because not only will you get wonderful products that are safe and high-performing, we can help some people in the greater Houston area.
And yes, there is a Labor Day promotion! Spend $150 on any Beautycounter products, get a free face oil (value of $68).* If you are not already a Band of Beauty member, tack it on for $29 and get free shipping, a free eyeshadow, and 15% product credit for your next purchase. PLEASE NOTE! Our membership program is strictly rewards — no required purchases and no autoship. We don’t even have an autoship option. *This offer good through Monday, September 4th.
